Smudge is a spirited one-year-old pug at CuppaPug London who needs specialist care after being diagnosed with a collapsed oesophagus.
He cannot wear a harness or go for walks like other dogs, and his breathing can become harder when he gets excited or too warm.
Donations will help cover his foster care, vet bills, specialist review and possible surgery, which may cost upwards of £7,000.

Meet Smudge, a spirited one-year-old pug who recently found his way to CuppaPug in London. At just four months old, Smudge was diagnosed with a collapsed esophagus, which means he cannot wear a harness or take walks like other dogs. After consulting with a specialist, we learned that he may need surgery costing upwards of £7,000.
Despite his challenges, Smudge is full of energy! However, when he gets excited, his breathing can produce a distinctive duck-like sound. While this doesn’t seem to affect him much in cooler weather, it can worsen in the heat. Now that he’s been surrendered, we’re having our own specialist evaluate his condition six months after his initial diagnosis to explore possible treatment options.
To support Smudge during his foster period, vet bills, and potential surgery, we’re launching a donor box campaign. Your contributions will play a critical role in providing him with the care he needs, whether that means finding him a long-term foster home or eventually placing him for adoption.
