Animal Welfare Statement

At CuppaPug, the Pug Cafe, we are committed to prioritising the welfare and well-being of all animals, especially our beloved pugs. We believe that animals deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion.

The resident pugs are our own pugs, they have all grown up together, they live together and spend all of their tims together wth the owners. Half of the resident pugs are rescue pugs.

We ensure that our pugs are provided with a safe and comfortable environment where they can thrive and enjoy their time. Our cafe is designed to meet their specific needs, including appropriate spaces for resting, playing, and socializing. We have dedicated staff members who are trained to handle and care for the pugs in a gentle and responsible manner.

We understand the importance of maintaining the health of our pugs. Therefore, we make sure to provide them with regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care. Our pugs are fed nutritious diets that meet their dietary requirements, and we always have fresh water available for them.

We promote responsible breeding practices and do not support any forms of animal exploitation or unethical breeding. We encourage adopting pugs from reputable rescue organizations or shelters, and we work closely with our charity partner the National Pug Protection Trust, where £1 from each booking is donated towards the rescue and rehoming of pugs.

The National Pug Protection Trust also visit the cafe regularly to check in on the welfare of our pugs and host training and education sessions for our customers.

We prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of our pugs by providing them with socialization opportunities and mental stimulation. They are given ample time for interaction with humans and other dogs, allowing them to develop positive social skills and reduce any feelings of isolation or anxiety.

We strictly adhere to local animal welfare laws and regulations, and we continuously strive to exceed these standards. We are committed to educating our staff and customers about animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the unique needs of pugs.

We also believe in giving back to the animal community. We actively support animal charities and rescue organizations through donations, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns.

At the Pug Cafe, our ultimate goal is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for our pugs, promoting their happiness and well-being above all else. We are dedicated to being a responsible and ethical establishment that advocates for animal welfare and encourages a more compassionate society.
